Workshop 1: The workshop includes really valuable information on Strategic Skills funding for 2012 and is the ONLY session offered by State Training Services on this topic at this time. Because of this the workshop will be open to all STS contacts but is nevertheless a Netpac member driven workshop and networking opportunity plus an opportunity for Netpac to promote and grow its membership.

The workshop rationale: The tyranny of distance we all deal with impacts member access to Netpac workshops. It has been suggested that bus transportation would avail members of additional networking time and probably negate the need to stay overnight. Your feedback via the website on this strategy will drive whether transport to workshops is offered – or not.

Workshop 2: The next workshop topic is yet to be decided but is planned for May and an alternative location – ideally Lismore or Port Macquarie to ensure all members have an opportunity to attend a workshop at a relatively close location. Again – let us know what workshop topics are of interest to you.
Website News: Yes – we are learning to update the website! It’s been a long haul with Netpac Secretary Jodie Shannon bearing much of the brunt and Training Awards Coordinator Helen Robertson recently undertaking a crash course in (furiously) self-paced website training. Vice & Chair (Ingrid & Deb) are learning too at a somewhat slower pace but making progress. Many thanks to Jodie & Helen for your contributions to the website – there will be more news soon on the member area, providing members with their own log-ins.
Events Coordinator Kerryn Freudenstein, has been busy confirming current members and contact details as part of preparation for release of the website member area. All this whilst contributing significantly to promotion of the North Coast Training Awards launch on 1st February and the workshop on 29th February. Great job Kerryn and much appreciated!
Lastly – many thanks to everyone who has participated in the website development, updating and ongoing changes, workshop structure and promotion of training awards to date. It’s a huge job that is often overlooked – and all contributors are volunteers committed to value adding to all aspects of Training on the Mid and North Coasts of NSW.
